Caitlin & Guillermo / An Intimate Destination Wedding at Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, Alentejo

Caitlin and Guillermo celebrated their destination wedding at Torre de Palma Wine Hotel in Portugal's Alentejo region.
Located near Monforte, Torre de Palma is one of Portugal's most distinctive destination wedding venues, surrounded by vineyards and the open landscapes of the Alentejo countryside.

With family and friends travelling from different parts of the world to be there, they planned a celebration that felt relaxed, personal, and centered around the people closest to them.

The day was planned by the incredible Patrícia from Peach Perfect Weddings, who helped everything unfold naturally from start to finish.

GETTING READY

The afternoon began with preparations taking place across the estate.

Torre de Palma's mix of traditional Alentejo architecture, open views, and vineyards provided the backdrop for the day, but the focus was always on the people gathering there.

FIRST LOOK

Before the ceremony, Caitlin and Guillermo chose to see each other privately, away from guests and schedules.

It's one of those moments we always enjoy documenting because it gives couples a chance to slow down for a few minutes before the pace of the day picks up.
(And no, according to our experience it doesn´t take away the wow-factor from you walking down the aisle, we always recommend having this moment for yourselves, it becomes some of the most cherished memories.)

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place outdoors overlooking the unique countryside of Portugal´s Alentejo region, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Before exchanging vows, to honor Caitlin´s ancestry, Caitlin and Guillermo included a Native American fuming ceremony, using sacred smoke to bless both the space and those gathered there.

It was a meaningful way of incorporating traditions into the celebration and setting the tone for the vow exchange that followed.

Cocktails and Portraits

After the ceremony, guests gathered around the estate for drinks and conversation while the newlyweds spent some time with family and friends.

We also stepped away with Caitlin and Guillermo briefly to create a few portraits around the property before returning them to the celebration.

Dinner Outdoors

As the afternoon turned into evening, everyone gathered outdoors for dinner.

The pace slowed, conversations continued, and guests settled in for a long meal together beneath the Alentejo sky.

Rather than feeling heavily structured, the evening unfolded naturally with all the guests sharing a few words about and for the couple which made the whole day even more emotional and meaningful.

A Celebration Under the Stars

As the night went on, Guillermo's Mexican heritage became part of the celebration. Mexican hats appeared, the music got louder, and the dance floor quickly filled up.

What began as a relaxed afternoon turned into a lively evening, with guests staying outside late into the night.

Looking back, what stands out most is how personal the day felt. From the traditions included in the ceremony to the atmosphere they created for their guests, everything reflected Caitlin and Guillermo and the people they chose to celebrate with.

Caitlin and Guillermo's wedding is a good example of the kind of celebrations we're naturally drawn to: personal, relaxed, and centered around the people who make the day meaningful.

We work with couples who want to experience their wedding fully while still coming away with photographs that feel thoughtful, personal, and true to what the day was actually like.

If you're planning a wedding with similar values in Portugal or elsewhere in Europe, we'd love to hear about it.
